The Bible is important

At Hillside we are convinced that what we believe makes all the difference to how we live. We believe the Bible is God’s book written for us - the wonderful story of his Son, Jesus Christ and all he has done for us. We aim to have Jesus at the centre of everything we do at Hillside, and we believe that it is in the Bible that we meet the real Jesus.

Who is God?

The Bible tells us that God is love - God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit have always been living in loving relationship together.

Who am I? Who are you?

God made you, us and everything else that’s good out of the overflow of his love, because he wants to share his love with others. We are so precious to him and he loves us so much, but very often we have rejected his love and have chosen to live outside the blessing of relationship with him.

Who are we?

We are Christians, not because we are good people; we are Christians because we know we are not good people! We have come to Jesus, who is God the Son, to forgive us and he brings us back into the love of God through his death on the cross and his resurrection from the dead. We are not perfect (by any means!) but we want to live every day walking after Jesus, following him.

What do we do?

We meet together on Sundays and at other times during the week, to encourage each other in all sorts of ways. We read and learn from the Bible to keep looking to Jesus, to remember all he has done for us and to celebrate him and worship him.
